An artist’s tools can change the look of a painting. The paint, e canvas, and even the artist can have an effect on the result. A well-known painters’ secret is to use the right tool for the right job. It doesn’t matter how humble your paintbrushes are or how much you think you’re an amateur. If you have a creative mind, you can come up with original ideas for painting. You just need to find the right tools for the job.

In this interview, painter Rajesh Saggi, who loves to create watercolor paintings with an unique style and feel, will share more about his inspiration to become an artist and the techniques he uses to achieve a unique look and feel.

What inspired you to become a painter?

Rajesh Saggi: The idea of becoming a painter came from a very young age. Growing up, I was always painting and drawing. I always loved to draw and paint landscapes, animals, and things around me. Growing up, I was also exposed to the art of my parents.

I often wondered what it would be like to be an artist. I got into art school and completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with majors in graphics and painting, respectively.

Although the idea of becoming an artist has been a part of my life ever since I was a child, it was only after I finished college and got my first job that I decided to turn my attention to painting full time.

Your approach to painting?

Rajesh Saggi: One of the main things that sets painters apart from other creative fields is their approach to painting. Many see painting as something that you do for pleasure, but for me, it is more than a hobby. I take great pride in my work and always try to improve my technique, especially in the areas that I feel I need to. I enjoy painting at its most basic level: expressing myself through art. Painting is an outlet for me to experiment with different techniques and materials, as well as to express myself through art. It is my primary source of income, so it is important to me to maintain my artistic integrity while still finding a way to make money from my artistic work.

Your favorite subject?

Rajesh Saggi: It is hard to choose just one, but for me, it is difficult to choose a favorite subject in painting. In order to create a painting, you must have an idea in mind of what it represents. If you try to paint a landscape that you have never seen, you will end up with something different from what you intended. The same goes for other areas of painting. You have to find a subject that speaks to you and express yourself through painting.

Your favorite medium?

Rajesh Saggi: My favorite medium for painting is usually watercolor. However, I also love to use other media, such as oil and gouache, when I’m painting a portrait, for example. However, watercolor is the easiest to use, and the most versatile. It’s the one I use the most often.
